Christopher Fritsch MOBASH SKYLINE

Christopher Fritsch's Bio

Christopher Fritsch began painting and carving skateboard decks for his senior thesis exhibit at The University of Montana, in April 2000.  Majoring in woodblock printmaking, he felt it natural to incorporate his love of skateboarding into his artworks.  He learned he could use his old skateboard decks as templates for woodblock prints and began producing images.  Making prints from the decks also sparked the idea to create sculptures from the templates themselves when the series of prints was complete.

Christopher's current artwork includes his own childhood skateboards, which have been almost completely destroyed, redrawn and carved out to the original graphic.  These too will have a series of prints made and the deck will then be colored to the proper specifications and resemble the original deck.
