Lisa Ankeny's Bio

I feel that we live in a society that is out of touch with what is truly important in life. Family, love, happiness and life experiences themselves are all distorted by our digital, wireless society. We live in a place where it seems we will never have enough. Corporate greed, mental disorders and over consumption runs rampant as my soul constantly struggles to find peace in what seems to be a society of chaos. Art is the reason I can smile through all of this. It is my chance to overcome my frustrations and express my thoughts, hopes and dreams. It’s how I connect, reconnect and find balance.

Lisa stems from a family of artists and calligraphers. Her work takes seed in a quote and manifests into layered pieces of art using a wide range of mediums. The final piece is always full of depth and reflects a Japanese and Western cultural influence. She now calls Pemberton, BC home after migrating North from Colorado. Lisa has received a B.F.A. from Montana State University in Bozeman as well as a Graphic and Web Design Certificate from Sessions School of Art and Design. She currently works as a full time Graphic and Web Designer.
